EVERY organization, EVERY food vendor, EVERY artist and craftsperson who will have a booth at this Sunday's Festival by the Lake on Wakefield's Lower Common has been put into the spotlight via a post on this page. Plan your shopping now, because you'll have just 6 hours (10am-4pm) to trek through all 138 booths. There will be plenty of good food and great music to fortify you, so enjoy the day! If you'd rather volunteer than shop, we can use your helping hands. Come to the Library's Trustee Room at 8 pm or send an email to [email protected] right now.

Six years of exhibiting at the Festival, starting when she was a young teen, she is now a high school student bound for college! Handmade by Amelia features handmade bracelets, beaded pens, glass fairy jars, and other items. She's been particularly popular with the younger set because she offers a variety of bracelets custom sized for those with smaller wrists. Please stop by and visit Handmade by Amelia on June 14.

First Time Festival Vendor Laureen McGonigle Art & Design hand prints canvas floorcloths, door mats, placements and table runners. She buys the canvas but does the rest herself: cuts, hems cuts, primes and prints her designs. See a few examples of her work below, and many more at her booth at Sunday's Festival by the Lake.

Chloe & Belle is making its debut as a First Time Festival Vendor with their handmade "park ears" and scrunchies. "Park ears" are what one commonly sees at Disney parks. Shop to match the park you plan to visit: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Disney & DCA. Chloe & Belle's versions are sized for infants (on elastic headbands), toddlers and adults. She uses the highest quality bands she can find - not too tight, not too flimsy! All standard ear bands come lightly lined to hopefully alleviate irritation behind the ears and pressure around the temples. So many pattern choices - good luck choosing just one!

You've seen Betty Rizzotti and her "Sew Nice"items around. She's been at our Festival, at Olde Ipswich Days, at the PAWS Wakefield Pawsitively Crafty fall Fair... Come see her again and select one or more of her home made sewn items, which are pretty and practical. Below, on the right, is Betty from a few years ago, sporting one of her own aprons, and behind her you'll see her gorgeous shoulder bags. You can also spot pot holders and quilted items. We're not sure exactly what she'll bring this year, but we're certain it will be well made, useful and beautiful.
