Emergency call today for a split white pine along Silas Creek Parkway.

⚠️ Another Hidden Hazard Removed Safely

This large red oak presented a serious structural failure risk due to advanced internal decay that wasn’t fully visible from the ground.

Upon inspection, we found:
• One major stem had already failed.
• The remaining stem was extensively decayed and cavitated down the spar, leaving only a thin section of live wood supporting the entire canopy.
• The compromised stem was leaning directly over an occupied dwelling and a primary 3-phase power line, creating a high-consequence hazard.

Trees like this can appear alive because they still carry foliage, but internal structural integrity can be almost completely gone. Once decay reaches this stage, failure can occur with little or no warning.

Given the condition of the tree and its location, this removal required careful planning, specialized equipment, and controlled rigging to eliminate the hazard safely while protecting the home and nearby utilities.

We’re proud to have completed another challenging removal without incident and to have made this property significantly safer.

With the bad storms we’ve been having and wanting to work on the aesthetics of the property, these thing had to go!

We even did a little stump grinding as well.

Shew, that was a close one!

The pine acquired this heavy lean after these latest storms and wasn’t far from failing on top of the power line and let’s be real, who likes when their power goes out? Well we aren’t going to be worried about those two pines anymore.

You can feel safer parking at your favorite Mexican restaurant in King now.
This dead pine was leaning right towards the parking lot and with the crazy weather we have around here, we wanted to get it done as soon as possible.
