Unanimously approved with overwhelming community support!!! This week’s Planning Commission hearing for The Grove was a complete hit! This proposed 35,690 sq. ft. two-story outdoor market and event space features café’s, shops, and craft beer & spirits focused around a causal outdoor community gathering space programmed with TV fire lounges, amphitheater performance stage, playground amenities, splash pad, and shaded picnic seating throughout. EFI is grateful to be teamed up with the talented folks at SDG Architect and Kier + Wright Civils Engineers, all led by our visionary client Matt Hagar at AiCRE Partners, to assist in bringing this well-needed outdoor venue to downtown Brentwood. Excited to be moving forward!

From CONCEPT to FORM!
EFI's team creatively developed a LEED-certified/Bay-Friendly landscape site design for Castro Valley Sanitary District’s (CVSAN) new Operations and Engineering building featuring a prominent public educational garden, amphitheater, and entry plaza. Based on the Zero Waste Department’s 4R’s best practices (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Rot or Compost), our garden reflects many sustainable site design principals showcased for public education in the commercial, residential, and school sectors. The 73,000 sq. ft. site's new building designed by the talented folks over at the Dahlin Group is nearing Completion. Looking forward to opening day for the public!

Unanimously approved! Our 49-unit 100% senior affordable multi-family housing project in Moraga was approved at last night’s Planning Commission. Much appreciation to EFI’s design team in developing the “Woonerf” streetscape concept (a Dutch term for “Street for living” a shared open space design between pedestrians, bicyclists, and low speed vehicles). In addition to the landscaped podium level courtyard and EFI’s creative conveyance system of stormwater treatment on-structure, this site design certainly complements the architecture. Much thanks for working with our client The Danco Group, Hunt Hale Jones Architects, dk Engineering and Tarrar Utility Consultants – a solid team effort indeed.

Another fun project comes alive for years of future enjoyment! EFI’s contemporary site design hit the mark for this residential “resort” theme! Our use of modern paving materials, elegantly designed metal and wood trellis structures, and striking pool layout gracefully transformed this property from the ground up. And kudos to Diamond Construction for leading the charge with the beautiful new home design/construction and Native Sons Landscaping for installing the landscape. It was an awesome team effort!
