Sometimes the best ideas don’t come from a meeting room. They come from the field.

This week, members of TCI’s Engineering and Production Management teams joined our Sales team for something a little different — visiting existing TCI projects and spending time with the customers and operators who use our equipment every day.

How is the equipment performing? What works well? What have they learned? What could we do differently on the next project?

Those are conversations worth having.

It’s something we haven’t done quite like this before, and there’s a lot of value in getting the people who sell, engineer and build our equipment together at operating sites.

Built to carry the load — for years to come.

These massive conveyor support stands may eventually blend into the background of a completed plant, but they have an important job to do.

It starts with engineering. From there, our team cuts, fits, welds and finishes each structure for the specific application.

The goal is simple: support the conveyor, maintain alignment and handle the loads day after day.

It’s another example of what goes into a custom TCI system — right down to the structures holding everything in place.

From our shop floor to the quarry.

These components are part of another TCI skid-mounted feed hopper currently being built. The hopper and lower skid assembly are designed as separate sections for transport, then come together on site as a complete feed system.

The first photo shows what that looks like once it’s assembled and doing its job in the field.

That’s a big part of custom equipment design at TCI. We’re not just designing around material and production requirements. We’re also thinking through fabrication, transportation, installation, maintenance and how the entire system will operate once it reaches the customer.

A good lunch and a chance to say thank you to the TCI team!

Today we held an employee appreciation lunch at TCI Manufacturing. It’s always nice to get everyone together, step away from the shop for a bit, and recognize the people who keep things moving every day.

A special thanks to Kenny for doing a great job on the grill — the ribeye steak and pork chop sandwiches were a big hit!

Most importantly, thank you to our entire TCI team. We appreciate the hard work and craftsmanship you bring to work every day.

Another fresh build out of final assembly — this 60’ radial stacking conveyor is ready to go.

One of the strengths of building conveyors at TCI Manufacturing is the number of ways we can configure them for a specific application.

Different lengths. Different belt widths. Hydraulic lift. Powered radial travel. And plenty of other options depending on the material, site and how the customer needs to operate.

There really isn’t a one-size-fits-all conveyor. We build them around the job.

Walk through our facilities on any given day and you’ll see a lot of different projects taking shape—each at a different stage and each being built for a specific application.

A lot of the craftsmanship in custom equipment is easiest to appreciate **before the paint goes on.**

This custom structure is taking shape in our fabrication shop, and these photos really show the work that goes into it—the fit-up, welding, and attention to detail required to bring a large structure like this together.

Every custom project starts with a customer’s specific application. Our engineering and fabrication teams take that plan and turn it into steel built for the real world.

Two truckloads of steel headed out today for a major TCI Manufacturing project. These are part of many loads moving to the site as this project continues to take shape.

Custom projects of this scale are complicated. Our customers have specific goals for production, material flow, efficiency, budget, site constraints and installation timing. Our job is to make all of those pieces work together.

The experience of our team makes a big difference — planning ahead, identifying challenges early and keeping everything moving toward the customer's goals.

And a big thank you to our assembly and logistics teams. There’s a lot of work and coordination behind getting equipment finished, organized, loaded and headed down the road.

Every load gets us a little closer to seeing the entire project come together on site.

We spend a lot of time sharing the new custom equipment coming out of our shops — and for good reason.

But we’re just as proud of the TCI Manufacturing equipment that’s already been working in the field for years.

We caught up with one of our 125’ conveyors this morning in Central Illinois. Five years old and still moving material every day.

That’s always a great sight to see.
