From slab to dried-in in just two days!

This Zum shell in Downeast Maine came together fast. On day one, the crew arrived to a well-prepared slab. By the end of day two, the panels were set and the home was dried in. Next up: interior wall panels installed by day 3 - and now it's ready for the General Contractor to finish it out.

Plan Spotlight! Explore the Varm Sala.

This eave-presenting Värm works well for large families or those who want extra space. Not only is there a sizeable addition to the core design, but there is also a garage, a connector, two porches, and a bracketed entry roof. The laundry area within the entry connector can double as a mud room for easy storage of shoes and coats.

The kitchen is equipped with a large pantry, which is adjacent to the open dining and living area with 9’ ceilings and access to a three-season screened porch for a comfortable space to gather with friends and family. The primary suite is on the first floor, with close laundry access and added privacy from the secondary bedrooms upstairs.

For our founder, Tedd Benson, this day holds a deeply personal significance. As a co-founder of his college's Committee for Racial and Ethnic Equality and an early advocate for racial justice, Tedd witnessed firsthand the profound impact of Dr. King’s work—and the heartbreak of his abrupt loss in 1968.⁠

Decades before New Hampshire officially recognized MLK Day, Bensonwood employees were given the day off as a paid holiday to reflect on the ongoing struggle for peace and equality. This tradition endures, reminding us that progress requires action, humility, and courage.⁠

Plan Spotlight! Explore the Xyla Lugn — a ready-to-build, single-floor home with charm and smart design packed into every square foot.

This eave-presenting Xyla is slightly larger than our Xyla base model, well-suited as a starter home or second home. The covered porch and side yard bracketed entry add functional charm to the exterior. The open kitchen, living, and dining area feel grand, with an exposed view of the gable and ridge alongside the vaulted ceiling. Adding an optional library-style ladder provides access to a loft for a distinctive bonus area, or to use as additional storage. The primary bedroom has a walk-in closet and a shared bathroom between the secondary bedroom across the hall.
