Helpful information for those of you with a 1st or 2nd generation Nest thermostat. Now i know we all look at these and say "yeah, yeah" but seriously. On October 25th the app will unpair your thermostat and not allow you to control the thermostat or receive messages from the stat. You CAN operate the stat manually through the stat itself but it will not receive any software or security updates.

Nest has announced the end of support for Nest Learning Thermostats (1st and 2nd gen). Your thermostat will no longer connect to or work in the Google Nest app or Google Home app starting on October 2

DTE will be having an "AC Peak Cycling program event" today. I like how they make an "event" sound fun. SO... If you have interruptible service from DTE OR you were given a free thermostat thru DTE you can expect that your AC will be OFF from 3pm - 7pm today.

Update: Interruptions do should not exceed 15 min at a time. It will not be shut off for the entire time. Most people will not notice the lapse.
