Commercial dumpster enclosure built with slatted chain link. Double swing gates give trucks full clearance for pickup, while the privacy slats keep the dumpster screened from view — a common requirement for commercial properties, whether it's a city ordinance or just good site planning.

Details like gate width and swing clearance matter more here than on a typical fence line, since the enclosure has to work for both daily use and truck access on pickup day. It's a small structure, but getting it right makes a real difference for the property.

Before the cover board goes on, this is what a steel post master looks like on one of our wood privacy fence installs.

Here you can see the galvanized steel post running the full height of the fence line before the wood face boards are attached — once they're on, the post disappears completely and you're left with a fence that looks and feels like traditional wood.

Little details make a difference in how long a wood fence holds up. For the boards themselves, we use ring-shank nails. The ridged shank grips the wood and resists the boards working loose over time from wind and temperature swings. On the post side, we recommend steel posts driven 4 feet into the ground for longevity, giving the fence a stronger foundation against shifting and frost heave.

It's not something most people think about when they picture a fence going up, but small choices like this are the difference between a fence that stays tight for years and one that starts rattling loose after a couple seasons.

Commercial fencing looks different depending on what it's protecting.

Over the past several months we've been out across Oakland, Macomb, and Wayne counties on a range of projects — ornamental steel picket for a commercial/industrial site, chain link around a municipal tennis court, and privacy-slat chain link for a business lot.
