-Stucco Removal-

Many times, customers are interested in removing their Stucco.

Some companies will hang drywall over Stucco, however, for many reasons this will fail and fail quickly. Thanks to my mentors for teaching me the better way!

First, we remove the Stucco using powertools depending on the type of Stucco. The next step is priming the exposed Stucco material.

Second, using once again brown bag durabond (closest viscosity to plaster), apply 2 skim coats of "Durabond" (not joint compound which most other companies use). Next, sand the ceiling.

Now it is a new surface, and must be primed. Then we can finish paint.

THIS will last and can be WARRANTIED for a long, long time. Others will fail.

-Paint Reactivation and Plaster Problem-

This case has two types of reactivation- some from prior workmanship, and some from water damage due to a roof leak. First, we scraped and dusted off any loose impediment. Next, we applied plaster weld (the pink product you see in the images). Then, we applied brown bag Durabond which has the closest viscosity to wet plaster being made today. After we properly restore, then we sand, prime, and finish painting.

Many contractors insuffucently repair by using a fast drying primer (if any at all) and joint compound instead of plaster weld and brown bag Durabond. Their procedure unfortunately will NOT and DOES NOT last, and should not be warrantied for any length of time.

-Plaster repair-Here we hung plastic and tarpped off to protect the customer's home as needed.

-Basement Water Damage-

After the water embatement team cut out the bottom portion of the drywall, we came in and cut a level line, replaced with new drywall, placed in a bed coat tape and 2 top coats of dust control compound, and removed and replaced casings and baseboard. Primed and painted with 2 coats as needed.

First we scrape, then we use a contractor grade mold cleaner, then we rinse thouroghly and dry, then applied a restoration primer and 2 coats of paint. However, the customer only wanted to repair these walls, they did not repaint all of their walls.

This customer paid a professional and reactivation unfortunately occurred once again. Painting by GPC won't allow this to happen

We cut out the area to the middle of 2 different studs, screwed in the existing wall, placed in support boards in-between the studs, placed in the exact size drywall needed, created an inset on the existing ceiling, then 1 bed coat one tape, 2 top coats, sanded, primed the area, and 2 finish coats of soft gloss paint.

-Wallpaper Removal Project-

This customer started to remove prior to calling Painting by GPC.

It is not all their fault...

The wallpaper was hung by a "professional" without priming and/ or sizing. They used a clay based paste (too heavy in some areas). This becomes problematic for anyone attempting the wallpaper stripping. In this case, the moisture is effecting the latex paint aswell as the drywall taping. A good primer would have prevented this.
