Step back in time and explore Union County's rich history!

This weekend, October 17–18, Union County will host its annual Four Centuries in a Weekend, a celebration of the region's historic sites, cultural heritage, and local history!

One of the event's highlights is the Feltville / Glenside Park Historic District, also known as The Deserted Village, where visitors can enjoy family-friendly activities, outdoor exploration, and opportunities to learn about the area's fascinating past.

PS&S's Matt Tomaso has been involved in archaeological research, historic preservation, and cultural resource management at Feltville since 1996. This year, Matt will join Union County Parks, historians, and historical re-enactors to help bring the village's history to life.

The event will also feature archaeological work conducted by Matt and his former student, Carissa Scarpa, at an 18th-century site, highlighting the importance of research and collaboration in preserving and interpreting our shared heritage. Matt will be on-site approximately 11 AM - 4:30 PM both days. Stop by Sunday for an opportunity to connect with both Matt and Carissa!

We're proud to see our Cultural Resources professionals sharing their expertise and helping communities connect with the history around them.

If you're a Lab Planner and no one's asking your opinion in meetings, you're at the wrong firm.

We're hiring someone who knows cleanroom design isn't an afterthought. It's the foundation. Someone who can translate client needs into space programs, lead design concepts, and push back when specs don't make sense. Someone who speaks Revit fluently.

But here's what actually sets us apart: You'd mentor junior planners, own your projects, and have real input on how we evolve our lab planning practice. We invest in your growth. We treat lab planning like the specialized discipline it is.

What you'd do:
• Meet directly with clients to program pharmaceutical, biotech, clinical, and process facilities from concept through construction
• Lead design development and solutions: casework, MEP systems integration, regulatory compliance, the whole system
• Manage full project lifecycle: scope negotiation, fee management, construction administration, cost control
• Develop architectural drawings and specifications that actually communicate intent to designers and contractors
• Mentor emerging planners and shape the next generation
• Build trusting client relationships that lead to repeat work
• Participate in proposals and presentations. Your voice matters.

(Yes, Revit is non-negotiable. You'll also use AutoCAD, BIM, 3D software. We won't overwhelm you with tools you'll never touch).

5-10 years lab planning experience across variety of facility types. Architecture degree required, master's preferred. LEED AP valued.

Ready to work with people who actually value what you do?

Kyle Toth, Principal Investigator in PS&S’s Cultural Resources Department, recently attended the opening of “Modern Architecture and Its Sources: Selections from the Collection of Alexander H. Jeffries, Jr.” at Vassar College. As part of the exhibition, two essays written by Kyle on British garden designer Gertrude Jekyll (1843-1932) were published, adding to the several refereed publications he has contributed to since joining PS&S.

For our architectural historians and archaeologists, maintaining strong connections to their academic roots is an important part of their professional practice. Publishing and contributing to our work not only demonstrates the expertise of our team; it provides an opportunity to contribute directly to the continued growth and understanding of their disciplines.

Contributions like these reflect the depth of expertise within our Cultural Resources team and the value of staying actively engaged in the scholarship that continues to shape the field.

Reflecting on a great few days at the 30th Annual Governor’s Conference on Housing and Economic Development!

Last week, the PS&S team joined professionals and leaders from across New Jersey to celebrate 30 years of the Governor’s Conference on Housing and Economic Development in Atlantic City.

From insightful sessions and conversations to connecting with colleagues, clients, and industry partners at our booth, the conference provided plenty of opportunities to exchange ideas and strengthen relationships around the future of housing and economic development in New Jersey.

PS&S was also proud to serve as a Charging Station / WiFi Sponsor, helping attendees stay connected throughout the conference.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by Booth 213 and connected with our team throughout the conference. We enjoyed being part of this milestone year and look forward to continuing the conversations and connections made along the way!

Reflecting on an inspiring Climate Week NYC event!

Last week, PS&S was proud to once again partner with Green Empowerment, Labata Fantalle Organization, Right Energy Partnership with Indigenous Peoples, and Public Interest Registry for “Innovation & Tradition: Integrating Infrastructure with Indigenous Knowledge.”

The event brought together community voices, global partners, and industry professionals for a meaningful conversation about integrating modern infrastructure solutions with Indigenous knowledge and traditions. Through shared perspectives, storytelling, and open discussion, attendees explored how collaboration and community-led approaches can help advance more equitable and sustainable solutions.

We’re grateful to our partners, speakers, and everyone who joined us for the conversation and helped make the event a success. We look forward to continuing the connections and collaboration sparked during Climate Week NYC. 🌱

⛳ Eleven years. More than $1 million raised.

Our 11th Annual Charity Golf Outing on September 14 brought more than $100,000 to United Way of Berks County — and pushed the total we've raised together well over the $1 million mark.

Huge thanks to all of our sponsors, and to every golfer who joined us. These dollars stay right here in Berks County, supporting our neighbors.

Already looking forward to next year! 🏌️

That’s a wrap on WEFTEC 2026!

PS&S was proud to be part of this year’s WEFTEC Annual Conference, bringing together water professionals from across the industry to exchange ideas, share expertise, and strengthen connections.

A highlight of the conference was Bob Fischer’s presentation, “Roadmap to Improvement,” where he shared insights on improving the passing rate of public wastewater operators taking the Sanitary (S) Licensing Examination in New Jersey.

Bob and Jim Wancho also had the opportunity to connect with Keith Hobson, former President of the Water Environment Federation, while exploring all that WEFTEC had to offer.

Thank you to everyone who connected with our team throughout the conference. We’re looking forward to carrying the conversations, knowledge, and connections from WEFTEC into the work ahead!
