This beautiful door for a nearby customer needed some sprucing to show off is neat details. We took it down to bare wood, made a couple repairs (see if you can spot them), stained to even the color and finished with a high quality marine spar varnish.

This was a novel one for me. Not often you see pivoting sash.

This cute little tilter had a lot of rot, more broken glass than not, and had been caulked within an inch of is life. Despite all of that, I was able to piece it back together with some new old glass, weatherstrip it and reinstall it as a functional window.

Only problem is, now I want one in my house...

While an ongoing window project moves forward steadily, I've brought in a pair of ornate church doors. Veneered in oak, they are Very heavy. Found this deterioration on the tongue and groove paneling while I was chasing down a buckling rail veneer.

Looks like someone used construction adhesive to glue down the mouldings. It made a very nice water tight bathtub around the end grain of the panels.

Lapped in some tongue and groove cookies to replace the rot. A few more tweaks and they'll be ready.
