Tip of the day-if you have evergreen trees, they are desperate for water, since we have had hardly any snow to speak of. Slow trickle of water on your evergreens will do more than even the rain we're getting-per Bob Bertog on WGN Radio today. An arborist gave him this tidbit and I thought I would pass it on.

I know most people are happy we have had mild winters, but this DOES effect our plants, trees and insects (think higher tick or mosquitos around...bleeegghhhh!!)

Our Serviceberry Tree is in beautiful full bloom!! It adds such nice color in the spring. In the fall, the leaves turn a brilliant orange/red!! It does grow actual berries that the birds LOVE, so no need to worry about cleaning up after this tree!

Gorgeous, gorgeous day!!! We got to plant some flowers yesterday at Geneva Public Library! Pansies are great "cooler" weather flowers!
