We've been away for a while subcontracting on some larger projects in the city. I'll be posting a few albums with some private home projects we have completed along the way.

After Construction was already completed, Residents of these Twin Multifamily Units wanted to add Stone Cladding to the front pillars to enhance esthetics and property value. In all, 8 pillars on 2 separate dwellings were updated.

Initially contacted by customer to grind out and repoint flagstone walkway to front steps. Upon further inspection we discovered the stone tread completed previously was not properly installed and the step heights had to be adjusted, as they were sinking. Deconstruction of the steps resulted in the discovery of sand being used instead of mortar, which resulted in moisture intake via sand, impending collapse of the steps, and the steps pulling away from the home. As homeowners do not use the front door for daily access, they were unaware of the danger the steps presented. Immediately the area was cautioned off, and we began repair.

Solution was to lift Limestone treads, remove sand and replace with mortar, grind out damaged bricks and replace, readjust heights according to code, and repoint pitch and level, creating a safe structure. Additionly, a wash (pitch) was created for water runoff to protect brickwork and structure, making a long lasting and safe front entryway.
