One of our favorite plants is in bloom - Baptisia australis, commonly called false indigo. These native perennials grow in full-part sun, are low maintenance, very drought tolerant, attract bees and butterflies, and make for a great cut flower as well!! These plants are tall (3-4 ft!), shrubby, and look great along borders or in native cottage gardens. Comes in several colors and sizes! Blooming from May-June, what a wonderful early spring plant! 💜

Erigeron!

A sea of Erigeron pulchellus (Robin’s plantain) featured at our client’s house in McLean, VA. Erigeron pulchellus bloom from April-June, like partial-full sun, are low maintenance, tolerate heat and humidity, grow best in poor soils that have not been fertilized, naturalize by self-seeding, and attract early pollinators 🦋 Love these as borders, rock gardens, and native plant gardens in general. Looking good right now!

We 💜 you Phlox!!

Phlox subulata, commonly called moss  , is a vigorous spreading, mat-forming, creeping, sun-loving phlox native to the mid-Atlantic. We love this herbaceous   because it retains it’s green in the winter, blooms early and continuously from March-May, and self-seeds, creating a beautiful carpet. Great for rock gardens, edging, foundations, borders over a rock wall or ground cover.

A sea of tiarellas!!!

Tiarella codifolia, commonly called foam flower, is a clump-foaming, shade loving, native perennial that is used in woodland gardens, border fronts, shaded rock gardens, moist areas along stream banks, and ground cover. We love this shady plant because there are so many different varieties with beautiful evergreen leaves and airy flowers that bloom April-May.
