It's a beautiful spring weekend there are over 80 people using Bruce Monroe park at 6pm. There were even more earlier.
Those who say the neighborhood doesn't need a Park this size are fools who do not have the best interests of the residents of pleasant plains/park view/Columbia heights as a priority.

Hearing Monday, please help

City Council is holding a public hearing this coming Monday at 10:30 AM. They will be considering the extension of the land disposition agreement that enables the city to give away Bruce Monroe Park to developers that won't listen to community input.

I see a dark red spot on this map where the current development plan would remove over 60% of the existing green space. What we need are more trees at Bruce Monroe Park, not more pavement.

It is up to 17 degrees hotter than the coolest areas inside the District.
