National Electrical Contractors Association - NECA NECA is the voice of the $270 billion electrical construction industry. You will need to contact your local chapter to receive a membership application.

NECA has provided over a century of service to the $240 billion electrical construction industry that brings power, light, and communication technology to buildings and communities across the United States. NECA’s national and 118 local chapters advance the industry through advocacy, education, research, and standards development. Membership Begins With Your Local Chapter

We have 118 chapters in

the U.S., each serving a specific geographical area. Upon approval by the local chapter, an application for your company’s membership at the national level will be submitted by the local chapter. Find your local chapter at http://apps.necanet.org/PortalTools/DirPublic/ChapSearchCriteria.cfm

Membership FAQ

NECA membership is only available to a “person, firm or corporation engaged in the business of ‘electrical contracting’ … defined as the business of erecting, installing, repairing, servicing or maintaining electric wiring, devices or equipment.”

The primary services of the association are for signatory contractors who hire union (IBEW) electricians. Non-union firms may be approved for membership based upon the practice of each local chapter; however, many of our chapters do not accept non-union members. NECA does not offer any specific services for non-union employing contractors, who comprise a small percentage of our membership. Learn more at www.NECAnet.org/Membership »

Going back to where it all began in Buffalo, NY, NECA celebrated a milestone birthday, 125 YEARS! This celebration took place at The Buffalo History Museum and was a reminder of how far NECA has come and where we're headed next.

The evening was spent honoring the people, evolution, and shared history that have shaped our association and the electrical construction industry.
