Washmo Tiny Farm

Washmo Tiny Farm My husband and I are raising chickens and growing as much food as possible on our tiny homestead. This is our story. I’m here to tell you that you can do it!

We started slow and small in 2023. Our chicken run and garden has tripled since then.

I have a soft spot for frizzles! Fun fact, breeding frizzles with frizzles can create frazzles. Frazzles tend to be very unhealthy so keep frizzle roosters separate from frizzle hens! I only keep frizzle hens since I only have room for one flock. I love these crazy looking birds!

Hazel is one of our spring chicks (hatched on my birthday) who went to an amazing home. Unfortunately, Hazel grew into Herschel and couldn’t stay. So he came home to rejoin our flock. He’s adjusting well but sometimes needs a snuggle break from the rest of the flock. He’s a sweet beautiful boy who will make gorgeous babies!

Becky brought her babies out into the run. She’s a good experienced mama and the rest of the flock leaves them alone.

Our hens are enjoying this cooler weather! And by cooler I mean 85 degrees 😂

Welcome to the adventures of my crazy broody hens. I let one broody girl have eggs, now they are sharing between the 3! We have one baby so far❤️

Easter Eggers make the best eggs! I adore the fun variety! I have some roosters available if you want to add some fun colors to your breeders!

I haven’t posted in a while. Summer & winter both have a few weeks that are hard. This last few weeks have been unbearably hot and rainy. Just doing simple daily chicken chores leave me exhausted. I get out there and do it anyway. The garden has been neglected but it sure has produced! The heat has let up so I can get to cleaning out the muddy, poopy run! I’m looking forward to being able to spend more outside time with our flock!
