The recently released Festool USA SYS-MC 6/4 Rapid Charger is out and itā€™ll make your setup a little less aggravating. Being able to access charged batteries and recharge without moving other boxes to get your charger out is nice. Charge most of your batteries 10.8V through 18V including a couple C-USB ports for any of your other devices or a phone. The footprint stays the same with or without batteries locked in so storing the charger in your SYS AZ Drawer isnā€™t a problem either. This one will make your job site life easier.

The countertop company said today thatā€™ll be the longest island to date they will set in residential. Apparently Jim Edmonds of the Cardinals had their record. Iā€™m just glad itā€™s over šŸ˜‚

Step 2 on the island panels
After I trimmed a couple panels to length and got the fit right to the floor on them all, Iā€™m verifying theyā€™re all level around the three sides. I cut in slots with the Lamello USA for all the connection points. Tenso clips for the panel to back side of the end base cabinets and outside panel corners. The two 7ā€™6ā€ long main panels get joined together with the clamex clips. And yes all the joints get glue. The walls had some significant discrepancies. I used a laser to get the Big Ass Shims in plane for a flat surface. Check them out if you havenā€™t, super handy shims. An Adhesive behind all the rails and stiles, but not the floating individual panels! Iā€™m basically ā€œwet settingā€ a majority of the panels in adhesive. I did put some tape on the floor in several spots. I hot glued blocks to the tape up against the panels to hold it at the desired spot that I measured off the laser to. These stay until the adhesive dried. Donā€™t forget to measure corner to corner to check for square, your counter top guy will appreciate that.
