So here is a retaining wall that we tore down and rebuilt using new block. The existing wall was built around 1961 with no drain system which ultimately eroded the soil behind the wall over the years causing the wall to shift and lean inward.

We removed 188 square feet of block and loaded into an 8 yard dumpster provided by Premiere Powerwashing. We re-excavated the earth behind the wall and built a new sub base with hand tools, using materials Provided by Meadow Lands Supply Co. LLC. They were prompt as always and supplied great materials early on a Saturday morning.
We built a drain system behind the wall using corrugated perforated pipe that also allows the rain gutter downspout above the wall to drain as well. We installed a clean out and cap so the drain system can be cleared if needed. We then re-built the wall using 580 new block and 65 cap stones which are all installed using adhesive. We also removed the old grass and soil in front of the wall along the driveway and replaced using 2b stone. This was a big job for just the two of us but we had fun doing it and we look forward to the next one. Contact us for any and all landscaping/hardscaping needs.
