PSA:
When you apply to a job, whether you're 16 or 65, carry yourself as a professional in every sense of the word...
From how you speak on the phone to the email you use, to how you write on applications and text messages.
You may have been able to get by in high school, with friends, and on social media at a certain standard of amateur presentation, but that will not carry over to the workforce.
Emails like "BackwoodsRedneck4x4", "StreetLeader420", or "BlazingTreesErryDay" are not the email addresses of professional men or women; they're burner email addresses.
"Wut'r u looking for?" "Wassup?" "Nah" are also not an appropriate response, even if communicating via text.
It's 2026; we all communicate more through typing and texting than ever before, but that does not mean you are exempt from switching gears when going from discussions with friends to communicating with potential employers.
Our assumption when vetting potential candidates is this:
If you can't take the time to write a complete sentence to a potential employer you want something from, there's no way you'll take the time to deliver the care we expect you to provide to all of our clients who need something from you.
Separate yourself from the pack; be a professional.
