Thanks to K&A Meats out of Grey Summit!

Today was drop off day for the processing of our last two pigs.
In the past, we've done our own processing but with baby on the way and the selling of one of the pigs, the butcher shop processing was the much better option this time around.

We are absolutely so thankful for their ultimate sacrifice in feeding our families for many many meals to come.

🐑🐐 "How do you get the animals to the back of a property?"

Great question! 👏

When we're setting up a grazing project, we often use what's called a Run --
a temporary lane made from electric netting that safely guides the sheep and goats from the trailer to their designated grazing area.

Think of it like a livestock hallway. 🚶‍♂️➡️🌿

The run allows us to:
✔ Move animals safely across a property
✔ Access hard-to-reach areas without chasing or stressing livestock
✔ Keep the crew contained and on task

Once they reach their paddock, they get straight to work turning overgrowth into manageable vegetation. 🌱

Whether it's a front yard, wooded acreage, pond dam, or the far back corner of a property, a well-planned run helps us get the crew exactly where they need to be.

Another day, another move for the grazing crew.

We're incredibly thankful for the landowners who trust us, and our livestock, with their properties. Every grazing project is an opportunity to provide a cleaner, eco-friendly approach to vegetation management while allowing our animals to do what they do naturally.

Here's to greener/more open pastures, healthier land, and a hardworking crew that loves their job.

🌿 The results speak for themselves. 🐑🐐

These before-and-after photos show what targeted grazing can accomplish when given time to work.

Notice what isn't here:
❌ herbicides
❌ heavy equipment
❌ torn-up soil

Instead, our sheep and goats naturally reduced the vegetation, returned nutrients to the soil, and helped create conditions for healthier plant growth moving forward.

An added benefit? Many unwanted w**d seeds are destroyed during digestion rather than being spread throughout the property, helping reduce future w**d pressure while the animals naturally fertilize the soil. 🌱

Targeted grazing isn't just land clearing, it's sustainable land management.

☔🐑🐐 Sunday is usually a day of rest... at least that's the idea. 😅
But when you're responsible for a flock and herd, the work doesn't stop just because it's Sunday --

or because it's raining.

Today will be another moving day for the grazing crew, making sure they have fresh forage, full bellies, and a new paddock to enjoy.

While many families are staying dry indoors, we will be out preparing the next grazing area because our livestock depend on us every single day.
It's not always glamorous, and it's rarely convenient,
but caring for God's creation is a blessing we're grateful for.
Rain or shine, the crew comes first. 🌿🐑🐐

One of the biggest benefits of targeted grazing?
The work doesn’t stop when the animals leave.

As sheep and goats graze, many invasive and unwanted w**d seeds are naturally broken down during digestion instead of being spread back across the property.
That means less return of w**ds, less regrowth pressure, and healthier native greenery over time 🌱
