Lawn Aeration Services, LLC

Lawn Aeration Services, LLC Serving Palmer & Wasilla, AK, we provide core lawn aeration, overseeding, dethatching, and nutrient applications for residential and commercial lawns.

With a strong background in chemistry & biology, Chris brings deep soil health knowledge to every lawn. Core aeration and overseeding are key to maintaining a lush, healthy lawn. Core aeration involves removing small plugs of soil from the lawn, allowing better air, water, and nutrient pe*******on to the grass roots. Overseeding with a hardy Alaskan grass seed mix revitalizes bare spots and thickens the turf.

The Mat-Su Valley has received only about 0.10 inches of rainfall so far this month, and temperatures are expected to climb this weekend, starting 6/18/26.

If you want to protect your lawn from heat and drought stress, now is the time to water deeply. Most established lawns need about 1 to 1½ inches of water per week, including rainfall.

Also, resist the urge to mow too short. Keeping your lawn at 3 inches or taller helps shade the soil, reduces moisture loss, and encourages deeper root growth.

A little extra water and a higher mowing height now can make a big difference in how your lawn handles the warmer weather ahead.

The Mat-Su Valley is finally enjoying some warm weather, and proper watering is one of the most important factors in maintaining a healthy lawn.

As a general rule, lawns need about 1 to 1½ inches of water per week, including rainfall. It's best to water deeply and less frequently rather than applying a little water every day. Deep watering encourages roots to grow deeper into the soil, making your lawn more drought-tolerant and resilient.

A simple way to measure how much water your sprinklers are putting down is to place a few empty tuna cans or similar containers around your lawn and time how long it takes to collect about 1 inch of water.

Healthy lawns start below the surface, but proper watering is what allows those roots to thrive.

Chris Sant — owner/operator of Lawn Aeration Services, LLC.

I’m passionate about building healthy lawns from the soil up through proper core aeration, overseeding, nutrient applications, and soil health practices that actually make a difference in Alaska lawns. I have a strong background in biology and chemistry, which helps me better understand soil health, nutrient interactions, pH balance, microbial activity, and what turf actually needs to thrive in Alaska’s challenging climate.

I believe in honest recommendations, quality work, and educating homeowners instead of just selling services. Every lawn is different, and I enjoy helping customers understand the “why” behind the work being done.

When I’m not out pulling cores or spreading nutrients, I also work in remote water and wastewater operations across Alaska’s pipeline system. Hard work, attention to detail, and doing things the right way are values I bring to both industries.

Healthy lawns start from the ground up. 🌱

Big shoutout to our buddy Kyle, owner/operator of Frostline Land Management— absolute workhorse out there today doing some serious dethatching on this beautiful lawn in Eagle River. Removing that thick layer of built-up thatch helps improve airflow, water pe*******on, and nutrient movement down into the soil so the lawn can breathe and recover properly after winter.

Next step: pulling deep 5” core aeration plugs to relieve compaction, improve nutrient uptake, and prep this lawn for a healthy, thick, green season ahead. 🌱

Why does our 2016 Chevy still look this good even covered in dust?

We had Robbie Cardon (R.C Detail)
apply a ceramic coating 4 years ago and the truck still shines after job sites, gravel roads, fertilizer dust, lime applications, and towing our trailer all over the Valley.

Definitely one of the best investments we made for protecting the paint and keeping the business rig looking professional year-round.

If you’re looking for detailing or ceramic coating work, we highly recommend RC Detail.

3,600 pounds of quality nutrients just arrived 🌱
We’re stocked up and ready for another Alaska lawn season. Healthy lawns don’t happen by accident — they start with improving the soil first.
We take a lot of pride in using quality products to help our customers’ lawns recover from winter stress, grow thicker roots, greener color, and better overall health throughout the summer.
Big Red is ready. The nutrients are here. Let the season begin 💪🌱

🌱 Improve the soil first, then the lawn follows. 🌱

A healthy lawn starts below the surface.

Deep roots mean:
✔ better drought tolerance
✔ thicker greener grass
✔ improved nutrient uptake
✔ less moss and compaction
✔ stronger recovery after long Alaska winters

That’s why we focus on the foundation first:
• Core aeration
• Balanced nutrient applications
• Lime when needed
• Soil conditioners & organic matter
• Proper seed-to-soil contact for overseeding

Healthy roots = healthy lawns.

🐾 PSA for dog moms and dads:
Start your pup on probiotics and enzymes now (always check with your vet first!) to help reduce those yellow lawn spots this spring.
We personally like Pawlife Green Grass, but whatever brand you choose, you still need to water those potty areas well to help dilute the urine and minimize lawn damage.
And if winter left your lawn stressed out, core aeration can help it recover faster by improving water, oxygen, and nutrient movement into the soil 🌱🐶

Wasilla soil temperatures are trending upward and lawns are finally starting to wake up.

2026 soil temps are still slightly behind historical averages, but we’re getting closer to ideal growing conditions for aeration, overseeding, and nutrient uptake.

This is the transition period where winter damage, snow mold, compaction, and thinning turf start showing up.

Now is the time to start planning spring lawn recovery before the rush hits.
