Last full week of August... HOW did that happen?!

Summer projects are still rolling, and we're starting this Tuesday morning from another job site.

Think you know where we are today? Drop your guess - town only, no cheating if you recognize the view.

Meanwhile, our fall schedule is already filling up. If you've been thinking about that service upgrade, generator, remodel, addition, lighting project, or other electrical work, now is the time to get it on the calendar.

Because this is Maine...

One minute we're complaining about the heat, and approximately 12 minutes later we're looking for the snow shovel.

Thursday mood: We can see the weekend from here.

The weather is beautiful, the trucks are moving, the jobs are getting done... and somehow another Maine summer week is almost in the books.

So we're settling an important office debate today:

It's 4:30 on a beautiful summer Friday. Where are you headed?

A. Straight to the lake
B. Fire up the grill
C. Find a patio and something cold
D. Home. Pajamas. Nobody talk to me.
E. Still working because apparently you're an adult now

We're predicting a LOT of D's and E's.

Almost Friday, Maine. Enjoy this weather while we've got it - we all know what's waiting around the corner.

We know, we know... nobody wants to talk about fall yet.

But it's Maine, and we all know what's coming.

If you have a seasonal camp, closing it up for the year means another list of things to remember - and another weekend spent getting it done.

MONDAY CHECK-IN

Another full schedule ahead for the Sellick Electric crew, and we're grateful for it.

Here's your quick homeowner tip for the week:
Take a look around your house and count how many extension cords you're using right now.
One for the AC?
One running through the garage?
A power strip plugged into another power strip?
That one behind the couch that's been there so long it's basically part of the family?

Extension cords are meant to be temporary, not the permanent solution to not having an outlet where you need one.

If you're constantly reaching for an extension cord in the same spot, it might be time to consider adding a properly placed receptacle instead.

And now we need to know... what's the longest you've had a "temporary" extension cord plugged in?
We're expecting some very honest answers. 😂

Thursday Tip - because Maine weather likes to keep us guessing. ⚡

Today we're out completing another service upgrade, and with summer storms still very much a thing, here's something worth knowing:

If you lose power during a storm and it comes back on, don't immediately turn everything in the house back on at once.

Give your electrical system a few minutes, then bring larger appliances and equipment back online gradually. And if you're noticing frequent tripped breakers, flickering lights, buzzing, or anything that just doesn't seem right afterward, don't ignore it.

Sometimes your house is pretty good at telling you something needs attention. 👀

And since we're upgrading a service today...

Storm season in Maine has a funny way of reminding you just how much we rely on power.

Today’s project: a standby generator install for a client who wanted to be ready before the next outage decides to show up uninvited.

They handled the pad, we handled the electrical, and made sure we left the property looking like we were never there.

No torn-up yard. No unnecessary mess. Just one more home ready for whatever Maine weather decides to throw at us.

After today, these homeowners get something even better than a new generator:

peace of mind. ⚡🏡

Because when the next storm rolls through, they won’t be wondering if the power is coming back on.

It’s been a SUMMER around here. ⚡

New builds going up. 🏡
Service upgrades.
Kitchen remodels.
Basements becoming actual living spaces.
And plenty of miles in between.

We’ve been BUSY - and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

The Maine heat is still hanging on, the days are long, and we're soaking up every bit of it because... well...

We all know what's coming. 👀❄️😂

For now, we'll happily take the sunshine, job sites, lake views and summer projects.

Speaking of Maine summer...
