Decorating for Halloween this weekend? 🎃

A few minutes of checking now can save you a tripped breaker, a melted cord, or something a lot worse.

Use outdoor-rated extension cords outside. Don’t plug a whole yard’s worth of decorations into one outlet. Toss any light strings with frayed or cracked wires. And turn everything off before bed.

If an outlet feels warm, sparks, or keeps tripping, don’t ignore it. That’s a job for a licensed electrician.

A furnace can sit quiet all summer and seem fine. Then it kicks on for the first cold night, and that’s when the small stuff shows up.

During a fall tune-up, we change the filter, clean the flame sensor, check the igniter, test the safety controls, and give you an honest report on how it’s doing. If it’s in good shape, that’s exactly what we’ll tell you.

Here's the honest truth about furnace tune-ups. Most of the no-heat calls we run in January could've been caught in October.

That's why we have the Comfort Maintenance Plan. For $150 a year you get two tune-ups, one for your AC in the spring and one for your furnace in the fall.

You also get priority scheduling, a discount on parts, and a lower after-hours diagnostic fee if something does go wrong. When it's 5 degrees out and everyone's calling, plan members go to the front of the line.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 🎀

About 1 in 8 women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Chances are it has touched someone you love, and it has touched plenty of families in our community too.

Early detection makes a real difference. If you've been putting off your mammogram, this is your reminder to get it scheduled. And if someone in your life has been putting theirs off, give them a gentle nudge.

To everyone fighting right now, to the survivors, and to the families who have walked alongside them, we're thinking of you.

First time turning the heat on this fall? You might notice a burning smell.

Most of the time that's just dust that sat on the furnace all summer. It should burn off within an hour or so.

If the smell doesn't go away, or it smells like hot plastic or wiring, shut it off and give us a call. And if it ever smells like rotten eggs, get everyone out and call your gas company from outside.
