We tackled the drainage issues first with a fresh French drain, then cleaned up the lines by defining the beds. Topped it all off with fresh seed and straw to get that lawn back on track.

We spent last week turning a “sad and depressing” dirt lot into a finished landscape. For this new build the goal was simple; stop the mud and start the curb appeal.

We wrapped up the final touches Friday morning, but the real work happened below the surface. Before any sod was laid, we brought in the Harley rake to pulverize construction hard pack, reset the grade and add some fresh top soil to replenish nutrients.

Let’s be honest spring in southwest Michigan means one thing-winter left behind a disastrous mess of potholes, ruts and washboards. The sun is out, it’s 52°, and we were feeling pretty good about checking off that final pre season to-do.

Apparently, the Hyundai knew something we didn’t. Rather than waiting until the season was in full swing and the pressure was on, it decided to let us know right now; we aren’t going anywhere without some fresh rubber on the rear.

We’ll take the hint. Getting the surprises out of the way today so the flow stays unbroken tomorrow.
