Spent some time today revisiting one of our favorite projects — the Sprout Garden & Food Forest at Drake University.

It’s always rewarding to come back a few years later and see how a landscape has matured. What started as a vision for outdoor learning, food production, and community engagement has grown into a vibrant space that continues to serve students and the broader community.

Turned a muddy shaded corner into a woodland-style retreat. Native sedges, ferns, and shade-loving groundcovers replacing struggling turf with something that actually fits the site. Simple paths, softer textures, less maintenance, and a backyard that feels better to spend time in.

Always fun seeing these spaces come to life from concept to install.
