I’ll have to admit that I didn’t think I would be posting this message. Four years ago, I fell while working and seriously injured my right hip and right shoulder. I always felt that I would be able to come back at a hundred percent and that it would only take a little while to get there, but clearly that is not the case. The fall and the resulting injuries have inhibited me from climbing, working in trenches, lifting, pulling, all the physical demands needed as an Industrial/Commercial Electrician making myself and the company 100% dependent upon employees which puts a contractor in a difficult position. Everyone knows the difficulties today in finding good, dependable employees, and our industry requires different levels of licensing and certification which is even harder to find and since I can no longer supervise and or perform the work myself, it puts me into a position that is out of my control.

As a result, I’ve decided the best thing for me to do is shutter the company. I’ve accepted a position with another EC as a Project Manager supervising large scale projects, as well as implementing an active shooter protection system that has recently come onto the market. I truly appreciate the business and confidence that our customers provided to us and wish you luck and above all good health. Your electrical needs can be fulfilled through other EC’s, however the camera and security systems that we installed are unique and I’m trying to work on a resource for you. I am hopeful that we can provide that service through our new company, as I will be assisting in implementing a camera and security division for them. Feel free to contact me regarding those issues, but standard electrical needs will need to be fulfilled by another EC. I will keep it open for now but won’t be committing to any work, all debts will need to be satisfied. Thanks Again

We were contacted by one of our customers who makes hundreds of rolls and buns that their oven was not working. We have worked on the oven before, and have replaced several motors that rotate the large heavy grates over the years, and were given the go ahead to design and "fix it" The motor has always been undersized, we started with increasing it and changing it to three phase, then we installed a VFD which allows an operator to reduce and increase speed and change direction of rotation. We built an enclosure installed the VFD and built new controls allowing them to rotate the grates forward, or backward, and alter the speed of rotation based upon which product they are baking. This will allow them to really dial in the heating times for the different products. The oven is running better and more accurately than it did the first day it was installed. It was a fun little project, and happy to have played a part in it.

Update: We just finished the install of this system yesterday, because of confidentiality agreements no pics of the install will be posted. A couple long days, some of the install consisted of less than favorable conditions but at the end of it, our system worked as we had designed, the install went well and we were able to establish another satisfied customer. I really can't think of any locations where there isn't the need for some type of electricity for one application or another. Sometimes we find ourselves 150' in the air, 30' underground, in ceilings, in crawl spaces, foundries where it's 120 or blast freezers where it's -5 with turbo fans, it's not for everyone but the guys who meet the challenges head on and just get it done find great satisfaction in this field. Special thanks to my guys for doing just that, as well as the great help from the owner as well.

I was asked to design a ventilation system for a customer who has an ag barn with animals. The system needed to slow vent during the winter then ramp to a 100% for a short time then back to min vent. I also need to incorporate a thermostat override as well as a main barn controller that can take over if needed as well. Here is my bench test model and where I've spent my last two and a half days..but I got it. So if you have applications that require control, automation and design we'd be happy to help you out.

We are looking for an electrical apprentice that is interested in joining our team. Preferred candidate would have some electrical knowledge through education and some field experience. Must be willing to work in all conditions and times that may be outside of the normal work week with overtime expected. An updated pic on the ongoing project covering several cattle barns. We've sent the internet at the office to 4 other barns, there we've installed the cameras so that they will be able to watch all the barns from the office on one large TV and on their phones. In doing it this way, the customer didn't have to trench or pull cable to get internet to the barns and successfully pushed signal to several different locations. We will be pushing about 30 cameras when it's done.

Dropped in another camera system where the school can watch their buses and the activities of the bus barn. They have done this to prevent vandalism and protect their their premises, equipment, and employees, we are happy to have helped them achieve this.

So we did something on this one that we hadn't done before, it worked as we had hoped and made for a successful install....

So we did something on this one that we hadn't done before, it worked as we had hoped and made for a successful install. We took the school's internet, shot it about 1000' down the street to their pressbox. There we established an internet source, set another pair of point to point units and shot it down to their bus barn where we installed several cameras and motion sensors to record activity as well as fire lights upon motion. We pushed the signal approximately 2000' and now the school can watch and record the activities at the bus barn from the office.

So this is the start of this project which is now underway. This will be a 28 camera install, we will be using PTP send...

So this is the start of this project which is now underway. This will be a 28 camera install, we will be using PTP sending internet out to 7 different buildings, installing cameras in each of them along with various exterior cameras allowing the owner to watch the entire premises inside and out while on or off site. We have a good start, but the cold weather has not been working in our favor. There was a lot of sun glare when I took the pic, but the quality is still clearly visible.
