Yesterday was the end of an era at Acker Builders. 14 years ago Joey started with us (almost to the day). Back in 2012, Wayne was screaming for "help" in Best Buy for his car radio. And Joey stepped in to help a weird stranger and didn't even work there, so Wayne offered him a job.

Joey has been through a lot here with us, but always showed up, worked hard, and was sarcastic and hilarious.

Fear not for Acker Builders, for while we are sad on Joey's departure, we have hired long time friend Doug Powell to step into Joey's role.

We are also very excited to announce that Joey is starting his own company. Modern Grain Concepts, and will be trimming for us. Joey is incredibly talented with wood working and we know this will be a great partnership! Stay tuned.

We are excited for JoJo Beans' next adventure!

Somebody (unknown to us) gave Alex a new partner for riding around in his car today.

With the deep cold this week and next, now is the time to make sure your furnace filter is clean. Definitely change the filter now if you are unsure. Make sure your exterior hose bibs are turned off inside the home and any hoses are disconnected. If you are going out of town, we suggest turning the water off in the basement at the main and draining the pipes.
