Step into a garden where creativity, craftsmanship, and history come together. Dennis and Tamera Hummer have spent the past decade transforming their property into a unique landscape filled with annuals, perennials, herbs, heirloom hostas, and one-of-a-kind garden features. Tamera is the gardener, and Dennis builds, landscapes, and maintains the grounds.

Highlights include a restored grain bin, an antique hand-pump water feature, a compass garden surrounding an ornate barn cupola, and a new medicine wheel garden showcasing native plants from across the United States. Throughout the garden, vintage farm and garden artifacts add character and charm at every turn.

One of five featured stops on this year’s Garden Walk, Willow Springs Barn & Gardens showcases the vision and dedication of Peggy Griffen and her late husband, Dennis. For the past 35 years, Carol and Jim Kraemer have transformed their property into a stunning garden retreat filled with perennials and park-like landscapes. Carol grows 250 kinds of daylilies, 15 types of peonies, and a variety of plants passed down through generations. Together, they continue to expand their garden oasis with wildflowers, trees, and winding trails.
