Working hard or hardly working?

Yesterday the Backyard Boys were working hard to get the outside of the Woodson YMCA’s windows all spiffed up! 🪟✨

Quinn’s first day back from North Carolina!

Quinn is going to college to be a fiduciary and pole vaults for their track team.

This will be his 2nd year as a Backyard Boy! He’ll be running a small crew of two, him and his brother Elliot, doing most of the lawn care and taking care of the window cleaning.

Real Talk: Entrepreneurship

East High had a powerhouse duo visit students to talk shop and business! A big thanks to Horace Mann and East High Tech Ed Teacher Mr. Bob Walsh and Devin Lierman (Class of 2025) for sharing their entrepreneurship journeys.

Students got the inside scoop on:

- The Strategy: Mr. Walsh shared his expertise in financial work with small startups.

- The Hustle: Devin talked about building his own successful lawn care and window cleaning business from the ground up.

From financial foundations to local service success, our students walked away inspired to turn their skills into careers!

Meet the Team Behind Backyard Boys!

Hey Central Wisconsin! I’m Devon Lierman, and together with a hardworking crew, I own and operate Backyard Boys right here in the area.

You’ve probably seen us around: out working in neighborhoods, cleaning windows, mowing lawns, or getting properties looking their best. But I wanted to take a moment to personally introduce myself.

I got my start early, working for a local window cleaning company when I was just 13. That’s where I learned the basics and where I realized I wanted to build something of my own someday.

In 2025, I took that step and started Backyard Boys to create something special; a business built on hard work, trust, and doing the job right the first time.

My very first job? Definitely a learning curve. When I was first starting out at that window cleaning company, I didn’t even know how to properly squeegee yet. I probably cleaned the same window 50 times just trying to get the technique down. But that’s what it took, and I stuck with it.

Today, Backyard Boys is a growing local team focused on quality work, reliability, and pride in every job we take on. We currently offer:
