🇺🇸 The 9/11 Memorial Cleanup Is Complete 🇺🇸

We worked hard to give this 9/11 Memorial the attention and respect it deserves.

We started by removing years of accumulated mulch layers and carefully trimming all of the shrubs, making sure they were no longer touching the ground, blocking the entrance to the memorial, or impeding the sidewalk surrounding it.

We then edged all of the landscape beds to give everything a clean, defined appearance. After that, we applied w**d preventer to help keep future w**ds under control, followed by a fresh layer of Black Velvet mulch.

But we weren't done yet.

We decided to go the extra mile and mow several passes around the memorial, keeping the grass low and clean for the fair and helping the memorial truly stand out.

This memorial holds a tremendous amount of meaning for me personally. I served with the Wauseon Fire Department for 18 years, and I was honored to be one of several members of the department who helped bring a piece of the steel from the World Trade Center back home to Wauseon.

That piece of steel represents the lives lost, the sacrifices made, and the courage shown by so many on September 11, 2001.

It is an honor for Nelson Lawn Concepts to help care for this memorial and make sure it continues to be a place that our community can be proud of.

Nelson Lawn Concepts was asked if we could help clean up the 9/11 Memorial before the fair begins—and without hesitation, we said YES.

This is more than just another landscaping project. This memorial represents the 2,977 innocent lives lost, the heroes who ran toward danger, and the families and communities forever changed on September 11, 2001.

It is an honor for us to give back to our community and help make sure this special place is cared for and looks as beautiful as the meaning behind it.

Our team will be:
Removing w**ds
Trimming and cleaning up the shrubs
Adding fresh, new mulch

We are proud to donate our time and work to help restore this memorial before the fair.

We will never forget.
We will always remember.

At Nelson Lawn Concepts, we are proud to be a Sara’s Garden supporter for this year’s golf outing. Giving back to our community and supporting local youth programs is something we truly value.
