3 1/2 Weeks Into the Process…

A lot of people only see the final coat of paint. They don’t always see the work that comes before it.

This home has been a lesson in patience, preparation, and doing things the right way.

Over the last two weeks we’ve:

✔ Scraped and removed failing lead-painted surfaces
✔ Replaced damaged and deteriorated boards
✔ Cleaned and detailed trim work throughout the project
✔ Applied a D-Lead primer system to stabilize the existing surfaces
✔ Monitored the coating as it cured to identify any remaining weak areas
✔ Scraped again where hidden failures revealed themselves
✔ Applied Kilz Restoration to further lock down problem areas
✔ Continued spot repairs and surface stabilization

On older homes, especially those with multiple generations of paint, you can’t simply scrape once and start painting. Sometimes the new coating exposes additional weak layers underneath. The goal is not to rush to the finish line—it’s to build a surface that has the best chance of lasting.

We are now entering the priming stages again, allowing everything to seal properly, watching for any additional movement, and addressing issues before finish coats ever touch the house.

The difference between a quick paint job and a professional restoration is what happens before the color goes on.

That’s why we chose a chemical application system using a spray gun and hose instead of aggressive power washing. This allows us to break down dirt, mildew, and buildup while treating the wood with the respect it deserves.

From dark and dated to bright and inviting! ✨

This kitchen got a complete refresh with freshly painted walls, ceilings, doors, and a beautiful new blue wall color paired with a crisp white accent wall.

Half the fence was faded, weathered & uncured… now look at the difference. 👀

Before staining, we fully sanded the fence down, blew off all dust and debris, and carefully prepped the house, deck, and shed to keep everything protected during the staining process.

My husband did it again 👏🏽😉

Wallpaper removal always looks easier than it is.

After stripping the wallpaper we showed you all yesterday, we found damaged drywall underneath that needed to be cut out, repaired, skim coated, sanded, and blended back in before paint could even begin.

Now the wall is smooth, clean, and ready for years of use again. Small details like this are what make the final result look seamless.
