If you live in Union County and have public water, March is when UC Water usually performs its preventative maintenance. We have attached a link to the information located on the Union County Government website regarding this maintenance. TANKLESS WATER HEATERS.... we are getting calls about tankless water heaters producing very little if any hot water which is likely because the condensate line has frozen given the cold temperatures (it is not the only reason this could be happening but the likely reason right now). Give us a call and we can walk you through how to thaw this line out if you find the condensate line to be frozen. As always, if you would like an estimate for a tankless water heater or to replace your existing hot water heater, give us a call!

With the forecasted storm this weekend, we thought we'd share just a few reminders that can hopefully help prevent frozen water pipes:
- disconnect all garden hoses from outdoor spigots and if possible, put on an outdoor spigot insulator; repair any leaking spigots
- especially true if any water lines are located on an outside wall or above an outdoor porch-like area, allow water to drip/trickle out of the faucet(s)
- if on the exterior wall of your home, keep bathroom and kitchen cabinet doors open to allow warm air to circulate inside the cabinet
- keep garage doors closed to prevent even colder air from entering
- winterize irrigation systems and use an insulated backflow preventer cover
- if your crawl space has louvered vents, it is recommended to close these to prevent even colder air from entering the crawl space
While there are no guarantees, hopefully these reminders can help prevent frozen pipes.

Friendly reminder...if we installed a whole house carbon water filter in your home, it might be time to replace the carbon to ensure the filter is effectively removing the chloramines.
Please refer to the manufacturer's specs to determine the required maintenance... some state depending on the system you purchased/your water consumption, the carbon is said to "last" approximately 5-6 years and/or 600,000 - 1 million gallons of water consumed. The sediment filters require replacement more often.

Friendly reminder: if you have a hose attached to an outside spigot, we highly recommend removing the hose to avoid the spigot from possibly freezing which could lead to a water leak. In addition, we recommend covering any spigots to protect them from freezing during the winter months.
