Leaves are falling. Great colors this season. But if they accumulate too thick and for too long they can damage your lawn. We like to chop up the leaves to small pieces which will fertilize the lawn.

not every white mushroom that pops up in your lawn will be safe. I believe though that this is a False Deathcap mushroom but I will use a shovel to remove the fungi in question. Deathcaps have a sweet ammonia smell and False Deathcaps smell like a raw potato. Deathcaps are usually “slimy” or slick on top, False Deathcaps are not. If I had some dark paper I could have also helped identify it by placing the cap gills side down overnight on that paper to see if it has white spores. Deathcaps have white spores.

Don’t let broadleaf w**ds creep into your lawn. This Fall we will be applying a 12-0-0 fertilizer with Dimension preemergent to our customer’s neighborhood lawns. Dimension prevents seeds from germinating. This summer has been perfect for w**d growth and development. Dimension is also best for the prevention on Poa annua (that annual Bluegrass that goes dormant in early summer giving your lawn a bit of unwanted brown color). Don’t let this year’s jungle of w**ds and non desired grasses dampen the quality of your lawn next spring. Give us a call. 937-609-8919

We are about 1/2 way through the mowing season. With all the rain, there is no rest this summer for your mower. Your blades are well used and likely dull and maybe even nicked. A clean edge on your blade(s) contributes to a more healthy lawn. Till the end of the month I am offering free pick up and delivery for everyone in the Waynesville area. I will pick up your blade(s), sharpen them, balance check them and return them to you for $6 per blade.
