Start to finish, one week.

Day 1 the old turf and walk came out. Then drain tile for the downspouts, a compacted base screeded to grade, and every paver set by hand until the curve came together. Sand swept in to lock it all down.

The part nobody sees. Before a single paver went down, the crew ran new drain tile to carry the downspouts away from the house.

Water that sits by the foundation is how walks heave and basements leak. This is the fix that keeps both from happening.

We wrapped this one up just yesterday. Pulled the old rock out, new plants, dark mulch, and corrected the grade to fix a drainage problem. Downspouts now run to buried lines and a pop-up out in the yard, then we top dressed with seed and straw. Mission accomplished, homeowner happy.

Then a reclaimed brick walk from the new steps down to the deck. Gary's crew set the first brick to get the elevation right, worked the rest down by hand, swept in the sand, and laid fresh sod along the edge.

Slit seeded, fertilized, topsoil down (70% black dirt, 30% organic) and covered with StrawMax seeding straw to hold moisture and protect the seed. Two days, start to finish.

Yesterday in Minnetonka: dethatched the whole front yard, top dressed it, compacted it and got it ready for slit seeding. Wayne on the dethatcher, Julian on the Bobcat, and Gabriel keeping the street clean the whole time. Details Matter.

New evergreens going in this week in Wayzata. Watch the boards: we lay mats over the curb and sidewalk before the machine crosses, because the fastest way to ruin a job is to leave your mark on the customer's concrete. Holes are dug, trees are set, and fall is the right time to plant.
