"This is a very unique hickory, maple and knotty alder handmade wooden 3d chess table with unique handmade chess pieces and as a bonus, we've included a set of checkers as well!
The chess board and pieces are made of repurposed hickory and maple while the table is made from knotty alder. This table is engraved on two sides for black and white and has unique castle shaped drawers that holds all the pieces with room for more.
It comes with leveling legs and extra stylish metal hinges that make sure the corners won't separate.
As a bonus the white and black name plates can be removed which means we can customize them to be what ever you want.
The Board is a unique 3d design and each level is approximately 1/2"" high. The squares are regulation 2"". The table is 3/4"" alder stained black. The table sides are 1/2"" alder and the legs are alder that is stained black. It has a second level on the legs for reinforcement. The drawers are made of 1/2"" plywood and the inside dimensions are approximately 10 x 8 x 1 3/4"".
The chess pieces are made with 4 layers of maple and hickory and the king piece is 3"" high. The checker pieces are double sided and approximately 1 1/2"" wide. The pieces are very light but stable.
The entire board is finished in a hard durable polyurethane finish.
I am a cabinet builder and not a world class carpenter so because this board is handmade from repurposed wood there will be minor imperfections.
This entire table is made from repurposed wood from our cabinet shop. We have a full service cabinet shop that generates a lot of off-cuts and scrap wood that we would normally throw away or burn. I got tired of wasting up to 5 fifty five gallon drums of wood a month and decided to make unique wooden gifts out of that wood. By you purchasing this board you are helping us save wood that would normally be wasted and lost forever.
A unique side effect of us using off-cuts and repurposed wood is that no two pieces will be the same ensuring that your piece will be unique to you and nobody in the world with have exactly what you have.
Currently we only have one of these. If I make any more of these they will be as made to order pieces so if you want one let us know and we will accommodate you but the woods used will be whatever we have at that time but we will work with you to make sure it's what will make you happy."
