Evidently, many of you also LOVE trees! Because of that, we’ve seen some new faces around here, and thought it might be good to reintroduce ourselves… this’ll be especially helpful for those who still think we’re dog groomers and not a tree service 😉
But, we’d like to think we aren’t just any tree service. We have deep roots (and puns to spare) in Parker County that go back generations, and love being a small part of this incredible local community. As much as we care for the people here, we’re also passionate about God’s creation, and specifically, trees! We love to find humor and joy in the everyday which you’ll often see in our posts, but we take our responsibility to steward creation and care for people very seriously!
Hatchet Hounds was formed in 2018 out of decades of love for horticulture here in Weatherford through experience gained by owner, Toby Mize, by way of our most esteemed local gems. After caring for the grounds at Weatherford College for 5 years, Toby went on to spend 14 years alongside horticulturist Steven Chamblee working as senior groundskeeper for the stunning Chandor Gardens.
Here is where his love for horticulture, arboriculture and people deepened as he gained insight from various experts across the state and connected with many in our community through his involvement as a City of Weatherford employee. Hatchet Hounds began as a way to extend this love for plants and people, and has been a blessing to us the most, as through it we’ve met countless people who share similar passions.
From land clearing and landscape consults to tree pruning and removal (and hugs 😜) Toby and the Hounds cover all things trees +, keeping God at the forefront and (hopefully) everyone in smiles.
We’re glad you’re here, and that you love trees, too!
