Operator/foreman (not necessary but a plus) equipment operating experience
A growing excavation, hardscape/landscape and construction contractor based in Ontario, NY is looking for motivated and dependable individuals to join our team. We work on both commercial and residential projects and take pride in delivering high-quality results with strong attention to detail.
We’re seeking team members who are reliable, hardworking, and able to follow direction while taking ownership of their role on the job site.
Basic Requirements
• Valid driver’s license and CDL medical card
• CDL Class A (NOT NECESSARY) but preferred; higher pay based on qualifications)
• Reliable transportation to and from job sites
• Ability to perform physically demanding work daily
• Prior experience in construction or related trades using basic hand tools and power tools
• Experience operating equipment (excavators, skid steers, dozers) is a plus
• Comfortable driving a 3/4-ton truck with trailer and equipment
Laborer Responsibilities
• Site preparation including raking, shoveling, and grading
• Assisting equipment operators using laser levels
• Load securement and equipment handling
• Operating tools such as chainsaws, plate compactors, and other gas power tools
• Assisting with masonry work (forming, concrete placement, finishing)
• General construction support and material handling
Operator / Foreman Responsibilities
• High school diploma required
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
• CDL Class A and hauling experience preferred
• Ability to manage and complete small projects independently
• Skilled in excavation, grading, drainage, and stone installation
• Capable of leading a crew and maintaining a safe, organized job site
• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
Typical Projects
• Patio and slab preparation (excavation, grading, stone base, forming)
•Retaining walls, natural stone/boulder walks
•Drainage systems (culverts, trench drains, French drains, catch basins downspouts)
• Site preparation, lot clearing, and light tree removal, Grading , some basic plumbing
Compensation
• Laborer: $20–$30/hour (based on experience)
• Foreman/Operator: $30–$35/hour (based on experience)
