Cold showers got you down? Here are a few reasons you could be taking the cold plunge.
Check the power source: If you have an electric water heater, check the circuit breaker to see if it has tripped. If it has, reset it and see if the heater starts working again. If you have a gas water heater, check to see if the pilot light is still lit. If it is out, relight it following the manufacturer's instructions.
Check the thermostat: If the power source is not the issue, check the thermostat on your water heater. Make sure it is set to the desired temperature and hasn't been accidentally turned down or off.
Check for leaks: If you have a leak in your hot water system, this could be the reason why your water heater is not producing hot water. Check for leaks in the pipes or around the water heater.
Check the heating element or burner: If the heating element or burner is faulty, your water heater will not produce hot water. You can test the heating element with a multimeter or call a professional to check the burner.
If you are unable to diagnose or fix the problem yourself, it is best to call a licensed plumber or water heater technician to inspect and repair your water heater.
