Thought I would take a few minutes and tell you about myself and Parkey Sharpening Service. My name is Harold Parkey and I am the owner of Parkey Sharpening Service here in Wellington, Kansas. I am married to Holly and we have 5 children. Alot of people know us as the triplet girls parents. I was raised in Mulvane, Kansas and graduated from MHS in 1993. I attended Butler Community College and recieved an AA in Fire Science. While in college I worked at O'dell and Son Mower Shop working on all types of small engines. I worked for the City of Mulvane Parks and Street departments for about 3 years.
In February 1998 I began my full-time Firefighting career with Wellington Fire/EMS. I spent the next 28 years there until I retired in April 2025.
I opened Parkey Sharpening Service in 2013 because there was a local need. I sharpen chainsaw chains, mower blades, circular saw blades, knives and many other tools. This has always been a part time business on my days off.
Though I retired I do still have a full-time job working on a local farm. I am in the shop most evenings and Saturdays. I have a dropbox at the shop that you can drop your items off in. I check it every evening. The shop is located at 1614 North H in Wellington. Our house is just south of the shop.
