Thinking about going with a dark exterior? It can look incredible—but it’s important to understand the maintenance that comes with it. Dark colors tend to show everything a lot more, even something as simple as lint from a dryer vent.

That doesn’t mean don’t do it… just be prepared to give it a light soft wash a couple times a year to keep it looking sharp. The details matter, especially when you’re investing in your home’s exterior.
