Weehawken High School chose a stained feature of the iconic New York City skyline, with one subtle difference: the historic Weehawken Water Tower, constructed in 1883, was added to the view, mixing in a local landmark with what local residents see when they look across the river every day.

The difference between “make it big” and “make it look good" is in restraint, proportion, and ex*****on. We help schools get the scale right, the details clean, and the floor ready for its close-up.

A water leak and flooding mishap this spring led to this gym floor replacement.
We installed Robbins BioChannel SB to keep the floor system low-profile and get the gym back to a durable maple surface.
A few weeks later, they are back in action just in time for summer programs.

St. Charles was a floor replacement over one year in the making.

After significant building, exterior grading, and drainage upgrades to help mitigate flooding, we finally got the green light to proceed with the gym floor install.

Robbins BioCushion, custom graphics, and water based sealer and finish came together for the final result.

A gym floor sees more life than most people give it credit for.

It carries games, practices, assemblies, folding chairs, maintenance carts, the squeal of sneakers, the weight of a crowd, and all the small daily indignities that come with being heavily used and rarely admired. It takes the traffic. It takes the noise. It takes the seasons. And mostly, it does so without complaint.

Until one day the wear begins to show. The light hits differently. The room loses a little of its sharpness. What used to feel clean and alive starts to feel a little spent.

That is the moment for a reset.

Not just to make it shine, but to bring the whole room back to attention. Sanded down, sealed, lined, and finished clean. Given back a little of its dignity.

And then the room comes back to life.
