How to determine if a Sump Pump Installation is necessary.

* Accumulation of water in the basement or crawl space
* Presence of damp or musty odors
* Cracks in the basement floor or walls
* Residence in a low-lying area
* Frequent heavy rainfall during spring

Benefits of Sump Pump Installation
* Prevention of basement flooding
* Protection of the foundation
* Reduction of mold and mildew risk
* Lower long-term repair costs

Ideal Timing for Installation
Spring is the optimal season due to:
* Higher groundwater levels
* Preparation for heavy summer storms

💡 Tip: It is recommended to test your existing sump pump each spring by pouring a bucket of water into the pit to ensure proper function.

Running toilets are one of the most common reasons for unexpectedly high water bills. 🚽💧

How to check if your toilet is running
1. Listen for sound
If you hear water continuously running or refilling in the tank when the toilet hasn’t been flushed, it may be leaking.
2. Look inside the tank
Remove the lid and check if:
• The flapper isn’t sealing properly.
• The fill valve keeps refilling water.
• The water level is above the overflow tube.

If you find any of these issues we would be happy to help you. Please call to schedule an appointment at 508-835-4092

Spring is here … Don’t forget to check your outdoor faucets.

After winter, it’s important to check your outdoor faucet for freeze damage before using it. Frozen pipes can crack and cause leaks inside the wall.

Here’s a simple step-by-step way to check it: 🧊➡️💧

1. Turn the faucet on slowly
• Go outside and turn the outdoor faucet handle on.
• Leave it open for the moment.

2. Turn the indoor shut-off valve back on
• If you shut off the faucet for winter, locate the indoor shut-off valve (usually in the basement near the wall where the faucet exits).
• Slowly open the valve.

3. Watch the faucet outside
• Water should start flowing normally.
• If it drips briefly then runs steady, that’s normal.

4. Check inside for leaks

Go back inside and look around the pipe where it goes through the wall:
• Check the pipe joints
• Look for dripping water, spraying, or damp wood/drywall
• If water leaks inside when the faucet is on, the pipe likely cracked during winter.

5. Test with a hose attached
• Attach a hose and turn the faucet on fully.
• Check again inside while water is running under pressure.

Signs of freeze damage ❗
• Water leaking inside the basement or wall
• Weak or irregular water flow
• Cracks around the faucet body

Your outdoor faucet works harder than you think—watering lawns, filling pools, washing cars, and more. Over time, wear and tear can lead to leaks and hidden water damage.

💧 Constant dripping even when turned off

❄️ Cracks or damage from winter freezing
🚿 Weak water pressure

A faulty outdoor faucet can waste water and lead to costly repairs if ignored.
