We turned this 3 season camp into a year round property. We started by digging down to remove unsuitable soils, then forming and pouring concrete footings. We then built insulated walls to enclose the space underneath the building. We added v***r barrier underneath, and rebuilt the rotting deck that we had to remove in order to access all sides.
This one was a lot of hand work with little to no headroom along 1/2 of the underside. Literally laying on our stomachs to get it done in places.
The customer had been turned down by multiple other contractors due to the nature of the project.
We do the hard jobs others won't!

Lots of hand work on this project. Excavating under an existing camp, and adding concrete footings. Then we will build new exterior insulated walls for support and winterization to make this 3 season camp a year round residence. We also did the mound system, which will feature in a later post.

Wrapped up our Stormwater treatment system and associated work at Mount Mansfield High school Mid August.
This system will collect and treat surface runoff from the buildings cars and busses preventing contamination of the nearby stream and improving water quality for the Champlain watershed. Part of a larger push by the state to improve water quality.

A couple additions to the fleet this year.
First: A new to us 26 ton year 2020 JCB with thumb, 42" digging bucket, and a 72" tilt cleanup bucket, 1400 hours, and still under warranty!
This machine can dig deeper and lift more and allows us to get more done more quickly! So far it has amazing fuel economy for its size, and plenty of power for flopping steel plates, trench boxes, stumps, and rocks around!
Also this spring a new to us 2019 16 ton wheel loader with 3 yard bucket, and 72" forks to move anything that needs moving! The Komatsu 320 loader is hands down my favorite loader I've ever operated, and I'm thrilled to have one for use in our fleet!

This brings us to 3 excavators at 6 ton, 15 ton, and 26 ton to accomplish any task and tackle any job!
Add to this an increased project bonding capacity this year of 1.5 million, and an increase in our VTRANS pre-qualified limit of 1.4 million and we have favorable conditions for another year of solid production and growth! Even in the face of this uncertain economy.
