When you are working on a 200 year old historic farmhouse every day is an adventure. Replacing 50+ windows and doors in a house this old every one of them comes with its own challenges.

Rotted sills, casing, trim pieces etc. and each one gets treated with its own time and attention to match the original finishes of the house. These windows have massive 3x8 window sills and a secondary 1 1/4” sill. To ensure longevity and historic accuracy we started with a piece of pressure treated 2x6 on stop of the masonry, then high quality #1 clear Doug fur 3x8s and scribed them to fit. Finally new 1 1/4” sills. We prime every side and every cut.

After we replace the rot we can then install our beautiful new Andersen Woodrwight windows. More progress and updates to come! What a difference!

Getting closer to drywall on this home remodel in Berwyn 🏡

There’s a lot going on here with some sections of the home being completely masonry and other sections just the bottoms of the walls are masonry. A lot of furring instead of full framing to save space in the rooms 👷🏼‍♂️🧱

A few projects we have been working on lately.

You may have noticed we do a very large number of bathroom installations/remodels.

1. Most houses have more than one bathroom so there’s a larger volume of opportunity.
2. We are very efficient in the process so we can get a standard 5x8 bathroom full gut done in only 2 weeks.
3. The bathrooms we remodel always turn out nice and with multiple bathrooms per house it makes for a significant amount of repeat clients. Our record stands at 11 bathrooms for a single client, 2 different houses over the years and 1 rental property.
