There’s a huge difference between simply changing the color of a wall and delivering a finish that still looks flawless when you get up close, turn on every light, and start looking for imperfections.

That relentless pursuit of perfection is what drives every project at Blauth Painting.

We’re constantly refining our techniques, testing better products, and improving our process to raise the standard of every finish we deliver. Because to us, “good enough” simply isn’t good enough.

For this project, we completed new accent walls inside an office at a distribution center in Ankeny.

The scope itself wasn’t particularly complex. The challenge was achieving a flawless finish with such a bold color—crisp cut lines, uniform coverage, consistent sheen, and complete protection of the workspace throughout the entire process.

It’s the same philosophy we bring to every project, whether it’s a high-end home or a commercial facility: an obsessive attention to detail and an uncompromising commitment to quality. Because at the end of the day, anyone can paint a wall blue. Very few can make it look truly exceptional.

This was a big one in Johnston, Iowa.

We painted the entire interior of this home — ceilings, walls, doors, trim, basically everything.

One thing we take seriously on every project is protection. Furniture gets moved to the center of the room and fully covered, floors get protected, and since this house was all carpet, we used Carpet Shield throughout the work areas. We also wear shoe covers to help keep everything as clean as possible while we’re working.

A good paint job isn’t just about how it looks when it’s done. It’s also about how the home is treated during the process.

Very satisfying finally pulling all the protection off this one.

Most people know Blauth Painting for residential work — but we also have crews dedicated exclusively to commercial projects.

For this distribution center in Iowa, our team installed custom bollard covers and repainted the light pole bases and wheel stops throughout the entire truck yard.

Commercial work is often treated as “good enough.” That is not how we operate.

Every detail was measured, documented and completed with safety, durability and consistency in mind. The work was carefully coordinated to minimize disruption and keep the facility operating as normally as possible throughout the project.

Because commercial painting is not only about applying coatings. It is about planning, communication, safety, documentation and delivering a finished result that holds up in a demanding environment.

This window sill had been permanently stained by a chemical left sitting on the surface.

The repair involved complete surface preparation, sanding away the original finish, color matching with Minwax Colonial Maple 223, and three sprayed coats of Polycrylic Semi-Gloss applied with our Graco HVLP.

Small project. Big attention to detail.

This interior and exterior painting project is currently underway in Johnston, Iowa (July 2026).

The scope includes ceilings, walls, doors, and trim throughout the home.

Before a single drop of paint is applied, every room is carefully prepared. Floors are protected with Ram Board, carpets are covered with Carpet Shield, and furniture is removed to create a clean, controlled workspace.

This nursery project combined custom wainscoting, spray-finished trim, and a soft color palette designed to keep the room feeling bright, calm, and timeless.

What you see in the finished photos is only the final result.

Behind it was color testing, containment, air control, meticulous masking, surface preparation, and careful spray application to achieve a consistent finish throughout the space.
