I am looking for someone to work full time and for the whole season. I hope to start on March 31 and work until about November 15.

I am looking for someone that I can train to be a crew leader. Someone that is going to be on time, has good communication skills, can problem solve, and critical think. Someone that can drive a truck and work trailer to pick up supplies, etc.

We do some landscape maintenance (mowing, pruning, etc). We also do landscape demo and installation, tree planting, and various other landscape tasks.

Starting pay will be $22-$24/hour DOE. I could possibly pay more for experience or if I see improvement over the course of the year. I offer pay raises for coming back year after year.

Experts recommend waiting at least six weeks into spring before doing major yard cleanup to help pollinators like bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects. Many of these insects, including native bees, overwinter in leaf litter, hollow stems, and dead plant material. Removing these too early can disrupt their life cycle, potentially killing them before they emerge.

Why Wait?

Many native bees nest in the ground or inside plant stems and don’t emerge until temperatures consistently reach around 50°F (10°C) or higher.
Butterfly and Moth Pupae – Some species overwinter as caterpillars or cocoons in leaves and plant debris, so clearing them away too soon can destroy future pollinators.

Ladybugs, lacewings, and other insects that help control pests also overwinter in leaf litter and plant material.

Best Practices for a Bee-Friendly Spring Cleanup

1. Wait until temperatures are consistently warm (50°F or above) before raking leaves and cutting back dead plants.
2. Leave some areas undisturbed to provide ongoing habitat.
3. Stack plant debris in a corner instead of immediately discarding it, allowing any hidden pollinators a chance to emerge.
4. Delaying spring cleanup even by a few weeks can significantly support local pollinator populations and promote a healthier ecosystem! 🐝🌼

The Monarch butterflies are enjoying my Veronia. I believe Iron Cross is the common name.

I started using this plant a couple of years ago. It is a great late summer bloomer. It stands upright, has nice foliage, and attractive flowers.

I have been trying to sod this yard for more than two weeks. I was finally able to get sod delivered last night. Spent 10 hours today getting it finished. It's a good thing Aaron is old enough to help, or I would have been there all night.

My season has started. We finished dormant pruning of trees and shrubs last week. We will get into some landscape clean up this week. Once it dries out, we will start on yards.

I am still looking for one more person to work. I would prefer someone that can work the whole season, but I will take anyone right now. Starting pay is $22/hr. I can pay more for experience and performance.
