🌤️ Utah feels like spring… but don’t touch that sprinkler valve yet
It might be 80 degrees and perfect for working on your summer tan, but that does not mean it’s time to turn your water back on.
Here’s what homeowners should know 👇
1️⃣ Utah weather is a trickster.
You know what they say about Utah…if you don’t like the weather, wait for 5 minutes. Depending on where you live, the weather will drop again, and you will feel silly for having your sprinklers on.
2️⃣ Your yard can handle the wait, and it’ll actually be healthier for it.
We’re in a drought year, which means every week you can delay watering pays off later in the season. Grass is built to stay dormant longer than people think. Letting it stay brown for a bit encourages deeper roots, better resilience, and stronger growth when it is time to water. The longer you hold off now, the more water you’ll have available when your lawn actually needs it, and that’s what keeps it alive in July and August.
3️⃣ Don’t chase the neighbor’s green lawn.
Early green doesn’t mean healthy. It usually means wasted water.
If you absolutely feel like you need to water something, stick to shrubs and trees only. Leave the grass off for now, it’ll thank you later
