There are employees, and then there are the people who become family. 💛🖤

These guys are the backbone of Kess Line. Most of them have been beside us since the very beginning, and they’ve been a part of just about every chapter of this company.

They’ve grown with us, sacrificed with us, worked long days and even longer nights, traveled countless miles, and helped carry Kess Line through the hard seasons and the good ones. They believed in what we were building when it was still just a dream, and they’ve had our backs every step of the way.

When you spend this many years working side by side, you become more than coworkers. These guys are family to us, and that’s something we will never take for granted.

Kess Line would not be what it is today without the men in this picture — and two very important members of our core crew who aren’t pictured: GF Joey Sivells and Lead Mechanic Tanner Wilcox. You guys are every bit a part of the backbone of this company, and we couldn’t make this post without recognizing you too.

We are incredibly proud of this group, grateful for them, and blessed to have them standing beside us.

To our core guys — thank you for believing in Kess Line, for believing in us, and for helping build this company into what it is today.

We love you guys. We couldn’t do it without you!

Our crews have been hard at work over the last several days across Illinois, West Virginia, and Virginia, helping restore power to communities impacted by widespread severe weather.

Our priorities remain the same: work safely, restore power as quickly as conditions allow, and do our part to help these communities get back on their feet.

We’re thankful for every member of our team who answers the call and puts in the long hours to get the job done. Praying for continued safety for all crews in the field!

Today, we’re asking our community and our friends across the utility industry to come together for a family who needs us.

Many of you know this sweet little girl and her family. She’s the daughter of a local teacher, a member of our community, and she’s facing a journey that no child or family should have to endure. As parents ourselves, and having a child Norah’s age, this one is especially close to our hearts.

At Kess Line Services, we’ve always believed that when people are hurting, we step in where we can. That’s why we’re pledging to match every dollar donated, dollar for dollar, up to $10,000. Your donation will be doubled!

To our neighbors here at home, and to the utilities, contractors, vendors, and industry partners we’ve had the privilege of working alongside across the country—we’re asking you to join us. Whether it’s $10 or $1,000, every donation helps provide hope and support for this family.

If you’re not able to give, please consider sharing their GoFundMe. Together, we can help this family get one step closer to the care their little girl deserves.

Let’s show them what can happen when a hometown and an entire industry rally around a family in need.

Every now and then, I catch myself looking around and thinking… This used to just be a conversation.

Kevin and I have been together since we were kids. We grew up together, built a family together, and somewhere in our early twenties, we started talking about a dream. Not a detailed business plan—just a dream. Countless late-night conversations about “what if.” What if one day we could build something of our own? What if we could create a company that treated people right, took pride in its work, and made a difference?

Back then, it seemed so far away.

What people don’t always see are the years in between.

The long hours. The uncertainty. The sacrifices. The missed birthdays, holidays, and family dinners because storm restoration doesn’t wait. The financial risks. The setbacks. The moments we questioned ourselves. The seasons that stretched our faith.

Through it all, Kevin never stopped believing. His work ethic has always amazed me. If anyone has earned where we are today, it’s him. Watching him chase a dream that started as a conversation between two young people has been one of the greatest privileges of my life.

Looking back now, I can see God’s fingerprints all over our story. He opened doors we never could have opened ourselves, provided in ways we never expected, and carried us through seasons we couldn’t have made it through on our own. Every milestone has been His faithfulness on display.

Today, just over a decade later, we’re blessed to lead a company that we’re incredibly proud of. But if I’m honest, it isn’t the growth or the equipment that makes me emotional.

It’s our people.

Some of our team has been with us from the very beginning. They’ve believed in us, worked beside us, challenged us, celebrated with us, and helped shape what Kess Line has become. Somewhere along the way, coworkers became family, and that’s something I’ll never take for granted.

To every employee, every spouse, every child who has shared the sacrifice of this industry, every customer who has trusted us, and every person who has supported us along the way—thank you. You are part of this story too.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that dreams don’t become reality because of luck. They become reality through faith, persistence, sacrifice, and the people God places in your path.

I don’t know what the future holds, but I know Who has held every step of our journey so far.

For that, I’ll always be grateful.

While many across the country are gathering with family, firing up the grill, and celebrating Independence Day, our crews have answered the call to help restore power in communities across Michigan and Illinois following recent storms.

Their willingness to put service before celebration reflects the dedication, resilience, and work ethic that have long defined this country. We’re grateful for every lineworker, operator, mechanic, and support team member representing Kess Line this holiday.

Wishing everyone a safe and happy Fourth of July, and asking for prayers for the safety of all crews working to keep the lights on. 🇺🇸
