You always hear to keep your dryer vents clear after a snowstorm — but don’t forget about your gas meter too.

We responded to an emergency call during the storm for a home with no heat, and the issue ended up being a gas meter buried in snow. When the regulator gets covered, it can interrupt your gas supply and shut your system down.

As you’re digging out, take a minute to make sure your gas meter is clear as well. A quick check can save you from a cold house.
