Good morning to all. Here is your essential lawn-care tip of the day! Why is it best to make sure that your mowers blades are sharp? Because, dull mower blades tear the grass instead of cutting it clean and crisp. When grass is torn, it browns the tip of the grass and its more vulnerable to get infected. Infections can be the culprit of large spots of random brown or yellow grass in the lawn. Dull blades sometimes don't even cut the grass, but instead rip it straight out of the ground. This has obvious affects to the overall health of your lawn.

Essential lawn-care tip of the day! What time of the year is best to fertilize your lawn? If you fertilize once a year, do it in September for cool-season, Northern grasses, and early June for warm-season, Southern grasses. Otherwise, make two to three applications in fall, one month apart, and one in spring for cool-season grasses; three applications are needed during the summer for warm-season grasses.

Good Morning to all and here is your daily essential lawn care tip of the day. What is an easy way to maintain your grass in the summer heat ? If you guessed refraining from cutting it too short you would be correct.

One common mistake made by both homeowners and commercial landscape maintenance companies is cutting a lawn too short. If a lawn is cut too short, it reduces the plants’ ability to produce energy for growth. When cut at the proper height, however, grass develops stronger roots that support more vigorous plants that are more tolerant of stress.

Essential lawn-care Tip of the day! When is it best to water our grass? If you guessed Morning then your absolutely right. Use sprinklers in the early morning when there’s less wind to blow the water and less sunlight to evaporate it. Morning watering also discourages pests and disease by giving the lawn the rest of the day to dry.
